Several of Mike Luckovich's cartoons about President Bush have set off many Journal-Constitution readers who believe he's being unduly harsh, says ombud Mike King. "The cartoons involved references to dying soldiers and the controversy over whether Bush should be attending military funerals for some of those who died. One last week showing parents of a dead soldier opening a letter from the president addressed to 'current occupant' infuriated dozens of readers."
