THREAD CONTEST To ring in the New (election) Year, dig up a LizzieFact and report it to the thread. A LizzieFact is something (1) claimed by Lizzie Tudor to be true based on her own beliefs or anecdotal conversations; (2) grounded in economic or political theories and beliefs rather than objective evidence; and (3) completely at odds with generally accepted government, industry, or polling reports and statistics. EXAMPLES: GDP growth of 8.2 percent is inaccurate and completely overstates true economic growth, which is "really" only 2 or 3 percent. Unemployment is not getting better despite BLS reports. Ohio's job picture is awful, based on Lizzie's conversations with a couple of friends there, despite BLS statistics showing that Ohio's job picture is better than it was during the same stage of Clinton's reelection bid. Bush is the most unpopular President ever, even though his lowest approval rating is equivalent to Reagan and Clinton's average approval ratings and much higher than the lows achieved by every President of Lizzie's lifetime.
