Off Topic: For all admirers of O49r, she has been bad mouthing Peter Grandich every chance she gets. Now we know why:
I would like to state what I know about "old 49r who's first name is Rose.
Back in the 1993-1994 timeframe, while I was still a hedgefund and mutual
fund manager, I participated on a gold theme bulletin board on Prodigy.
During that time, "old49r" also commented on a regular basis.If memory
seves me correctly,she posted hundred's of commentaries, recommendations,
etc; on a stock called Mink Minerals.
During that same time, I had advocated investors consider Nevsun Resources.
I had noted my personal bias that I had been its lead financier and owned a
chunk of stock.
old49r, in her "own style", began to challenge me on the merits of Mink
versus Nevsun. I believe we ended up making what I thought was a friendly
bet on which stock would go to $10 first. Old49r also suggested I look at
Mink and consider them as a potential client. I met the President of Mink
at a Toronto Gold Show. I then told them what my fees were for investment
banking and consulting. After reviewing their data, I decided their
projects didn't merit my affilated and dropped any further consideration.
Sometime during this period,accusations began on Prodigy that old49r was
working for Mink in some fashion but had not disclosed it in her many, many
commentaries. I do recall a Mink officer and/or employee coming on line
verifying this accusation but it's long ago and quite honestly, very
unimportant to me!
For the record, old49r did introduce herself one time to me at a San
Francisco Gold show but for a million bucks, I couldn't describe her or
pick her out of a crowd. Since that time, I had no known contact or
communications with her. Also for the record, I don't believe Mink ever
went higher in price then it had while she "supported" it. Nevsun did
indeed go from $1 to $17.
Now if I may, I would like to address some of her comments you e-mail me a
copy of.
For starters, several months ago, I discovered that a close personal
friend, who I had "created" a job for during some bad financial hardships
in his life, took his position way too far and was getting into arguements
on the internet in my name. I made disclosures of this to my readers,
notified the site administrators to close that account so no further posts
could be made, and had to watch someone's life fall apart. One of the
parties who was the target of this persons anger, continued to direct his
"views" at me in a manner I felt was no longer approbiate. I contacted him
and explained the situation. I asked him to please call me directly to
verify anything before posting but I have yet to get one call(and yes he
does include me in his posts still from time to time). Since then, I have
answered only two of the many comments on me on the internet, directly. One
was to a gentlemen named William Jespen who had been sending a series of
e-mails to us that were not "pretty". The other was a few days ago on
stockhouse to a person name readymade.. If these two responses are as
old49r said"flies off the handle" then I apologize. It would be interesting
to hear what she describes her "rebuttals" as.
She is correct on one fact in her post. I am an ex-cop. But her comments
about the Dolan's and their daughter is dead wrong. Their daughter is about
22 or 23 years old and single the last time I saw her. What old49r has
"miscommunicated" is the fact that Daria Dolan is Godmother to my 5 year
old daughter.
Her next comment is what dissapoints me and why I find so much
misinformation on the internet. She makes a totally false and potentially
liable statement that I was "kicked outta the mutual fund mgmt biz for lack
of results"... The FACT IS, I resigned from the business due to the fact
that I didn't want my personal investments and consultant work to violate
any responsibilites of fiduary duty I had as a fund manager(by the way, if
the fund had stay opened, the positions I left in it would had led to a
100% gain less then 6 months after I left. Nevsun was 20% of the fund). I
also had extreme confidence that my personal Nevsun holdings would return
any and all the finacial gains I would need. And sure enough it did!
She saids she could pick up the phone and have a lovely chat. Trust me,
until your e-mail I would have had great difficulty knowing who she is.
I would have normally not responded but her comments, but the
potentially libelous one had to be addressed. Don't worry, my skin is thick
and it will roll off like all the others.

P.S. I have received other e-mails about old49r and am told she believes
and advocated strongly that there's plenty of gold at Bre-X.
If true, need I really say anything more on this subject.
