Mark, I haven't read enough of your posts to tell where you're coming from, but in any case I'd encourage you to ignore cyberkook. No one rational among us "Bushies" would claim him or want to be associated with him, much as the Bush-haters want to make that connection.

Now, if some on the left would disassociate themselves from the lunatic ravings of Ray-man, tsigMABUSman and a few others (or the deliberate lies and ignorant distortions of Dizzie Tudor, for that matter), then we could all have some interesting, reasoned debates over real issues.

Perhaps I'm asking too much, but it IS almost Christmas.

PS: Changes in exchange rates have no impact on the calculation of the bulk of GDP, entering only through the impact on imports and exports, which make up a relative small portion of the economy. So, yes, the 8.2% is "real", regardless of what the dollar has done over the last year.
