Ausdauer, re: "What is your point?" I refer you to my reply to Howard. Not to mention that most retailers offer SNDK flash without any specs at all while LEXR products are labelled "by speed".

When I went to BestBuy to get a "faster" flash card, it was easier to buy a 16x LEXR card than to try and figure out if SNDK offered a better card at the same price ... or even an equivalent card at any price. Like the average Joe I looked into the locked glass case and decided based upon what I saw. What I saw was a whole bunch of cards with generic labels (including SNDK) and LEXR cards with speed labels that I could understand from afar.

IMHO, LEXR knows how to market, SNDK knows how to manufacture, and Samsung will -- with the usual Asian strategy -- beat the crap out of both of those companies.

Howard, it isn't always important to be the lowest-cost producer. Asian companies are famous for "buying" market share by underpricing their products until their competition folds. If Samsung set up shop as a burger joint and started selling 1/4 pound hamburgers with all the trimmings for $.29 each, how long do you think that McDonalds would be able to hold on to its market share?
