A few years ago, I read John Bogle's book on Mutual Funds. He used graphs and logic to persuasively prove that managed mutual funds are a well-marketed swindle. And the book was originally published in the early 1990's, well before most of the notorius excesses and ethical lapses really started to gather momentum.
