Raymond,

I expect the mutual fund industry to go the way of the trusts that were hot during the 1920's. It will take a while for people to realize they have been taken to the cleaners. The next reasonable sell off in this bear market should get people to the point where they understand a whole lot of US corporations are walking bankruptcies and we should see the next wave of consolidation of mutual funds inside the fund houses. The 2000 sell off got rid of a few and as this bear market gets it job done the number of mutual funds should shrink. It seems to take a long time for these things to unfold.
