This in the Internet. In many ways it's the last resort for the types of folks who get picked for pounding when they mouth off at the local bar. Perhaps not the best use of the technology, but it does give a certain breed of coward a place to shoot off their mouths without picking up a new set of lumps.

Look at it on the bright side. It probably helps keep everyone's medical insurance premiums down by cutting costs on constantly patching them back up.

If a thing is true, everyone knows it's true and there would be no legitimate reason to be offended by someone pointing it out.

If a thing is not true, everyone knows it's not true and there's no reason to be offended by someone making an obviously false remark. Especially since the remark could only be intended to cause offense, and by showing offense, you lose.

After awhile you figure out these poorer sorts, who never learned how to conduct themselves in public places, are more deserving of pity than anger. If you've seen one, you've seen them all. The content of their contributions just gets fantastically boring to read due to the simple minded lack of originality.

Unless you enjoy seeing your inbox filled with repetitiously boring posts by persons you would avoid associating with in person, the simple solution is to use the ignore feature provided by SI.

You can't teach a pig to sing. It wastes your time and annoys the pig.
