On your chart I see an impulse with a topping ED at the end... may imply an impending reversal... fwiw. Wouldn't the strength in the Yen be a good reason for the Japanese MOF and the BOJ to dilute the Yen and to buy up more USD's? Unfortunately the the post doesn't include links, so it is difficult to get any more info, but if Japan is really prepared to use its financial muscle in such a way, the implications are many, and they are significant.
