I'm not looking at it as a parent. My experience comes from being a parent, but I don't want damaged people out there who don't need to be damaged. I can't stand human wastage, from a utilitarian perspective- if waste can be reasonably prevented. You're just wrong about my approach to this. "Typical kids don't need a lot of medical care"- I have to laugh at this- typical? What exactly is that? And who can tell if they have a "typical" kid? I haven't been lucky enough to have one. I doubt the poor are so blessed either.

I can't say I want to continue this. It's depressing to find educated adults who can't see the value in preventative care for childhood ailments. Luckily, there are a lot of people who do see the value- and they are putting a lot of tax dollars to work in this area.
