Prionic diseases (such as the human CJV) have been endemic in deer and elk herds from CO to Minn. for years now... even trout have been infected with "whirling disease". Industry lobbyist's and the lobbyist-dominated Agriculture Department have only themselves to blame for the coming market losses. Failure to implement realistic inspections, failure to ban rendered animal protein from animal feed (even cross-species), failure to BAN use of "dropped cattle" from the human food chain, and failure to mandate new slaughter methods (the currently used 'bolt' method of slaughter frequently sprays nerve matter across other tissues) has brought this disaster to pass. It was all inevitable, given enough time. I pointed this out over two years ago, here on this thread.
