As far as debt service as a percentage of disposable income of the "average American". I say there is no such thing as the "average American". Averages are very good at skewing things when you have huge incomes at one end of the field. Try median income. If you can substantiate your case there I might listen. (the average income of ten people, 9 with NO income and 1 with $1 million income is $100,000)
