I guess that's what seems so wacky about all this. Many countries banned Canadian beef, yet it was deemed safe by our government health officials .The same stance will no doubt be taken by US health officials, even as other countries stop the importation of American beef.

I see in the news this a.m...that's the position. It's all perfectly safe. Of course, they're also recalling some beef as well. ... it's legimate to ask ... if it's perfectly safe, then why are you doing a recall. I think it's perception management. For those that accept that it's perfectly safe, they don't care about a recall. For those that don't accept it's safe, the recall makes them feel better. At the other end, for those countries that import US beef and suspend imports. They're managing the perception of their people.

I have yet to run into a real person that believes there is a safety issue with Canadian drugs.

Yet the fact that we will now not be able to bring a beef Subway sandwich from the US to Canada for personal consumption baffles me!!

There is a bright side after all. Keep junk food out of Canada. That makes sense.
