This is a good attitude for long term investors. I especially like
that it requires you to be right much less often (compared to
trading). I've done a little trading, holding a long position for
only a few weeks, but am pretty nervous about it. But to those that
can handle it - good luck!

Here's something to think about: company XYZ increases sales and
profits - that's good. The customers who bought the additional
merchandise got the money by getting a wage hike - bad. Or they financed the purchases by using their credit cards - bad.
Are we just a little inconsistent in judging economic events?
We love higher sales and profits, but decry any methods for the
consumer to increase her purchasing power.

I'm kind of glad I never took a lot of economics courses in college.
There's less to unlearn.<G>
