EBay listings fall 21% in latest week: J.P. Morgan (EBAY) By Tomi Kilgore
NEW YORK (CBS.MW) - Analyst Daryl Smith at J.P. Morgan estimates that EBay's (EBAY) total listings for the week ending Dec. 24 fell 21 percent from the previous week to 16.1 million, as sellers limited new listings due to shipping constraints before Christmas. Quarter to date, Smith estimates total listings of 261 million. For the online auctioneer to meet his fourth-quarter forecast for total listings of 286 million, the company needs to generate an average of 19 million listings per week for the rest of the quarter. The stock closed Wednesday up 28 cents at $64.02.
