(By the way, there are many 'technologies to reduce pollution' that offer improved energy efficiency, and or lower societal healthcare costs... and so may be quite COST-EFFECTIVE. Several potential 'industries of the future', that the US used to lead in, now look like the lead has shifted to other nations... and we are on the verge of being denied the benefits of the increased employment, resource base, and economic strength, that we stood to gain if we had not lost our leads.)

>>> Er... SOME do, and they can be sanctioned for that in international trade to make it a most costly exercise for them (after-all, exporting death and disease to other countries is an actionable offense)... while some have much better records in enforcing environmental regulations than we do....
