I don't think they're ruining us on purpose. I think they had a plan to "starve" the government, and force a reduction in entitlements like SS, Medicare, etc. They thought that all this stimulus was bound to create a boom, but all anyone with any sense can see is the tremendous deficit coupled with a declining employment base (less tax revenue), so, everyone's hunkered and foreigners are unloading dollars as fast as possible. It's just that the Bushies theories don't work, and we all know that they can never admit they're wrong. The Rubin/Clinton boom was due to fiscal disipline creating confidence in the economy. No tax cuts needed.
