LOL! If their delivery had been any more dead pan, it would have been completely monotone - they delivered those words very matter of factly. "Any more would have been unprofessional, IMO." And as I said, there was no other context, like telling viewers that voting for anyone besides Saddam was a death sentence, or that voicing dissent in Iraq meant certain imprisonment, torture &/or or death. Perhaps they might have noted that Saddam's claims might be challenged by the hundreds of thousands of people he slaughtered, raped & tortured (or their families) if they could only speak freely.
