From Beijing... sitting in a cyber-war cafe [about 100 Chinese playing kill-games on computers], which gets very smokey, I don't see any sars yet. I'm here for another week or so.

There is heaps of smoke here, so maybe there'll be fire soon. Phew, the guy next to me is sucking in strong smoke... I hope he isn't a sars carrier.

I can't take too long in here. I wonder if there's a correlation with smoking and deaths from sars. I'd be surprised if there isn't. The correlation genetically was weak if at all [as I recall] but I can imagine a smoke/sars death correlation.

Almost nobody wearing masks, though I did see one family with children in Hong Kong airport masked up. They looked like leaky masks. If condoms were as leaky, the birth rate would go up [not to mention AIDS].
