Thurston,

the OS will not stop you from running Max Blast 2, as the OS is not loaded. You are booting from the MaxBlast disk, right?

I don't know why you can't format a drive from WinXP Drive Manager, unless you are trying to format the drive on which the OS is running. (eg., if your OS is on the C: drive, you won't be able to format that drive from Drive Manager).

I looked at the Klez worm info on the Symantec site and it just seems interested in spreading itself around rather than screwing up your hard drive. What makes you think you still have the virus and how long, after a removal, does it take to come back? Have you installed the MS patch for IE?

I see on the Maxtor site that MaxBlast 3 is their current utility--you should maybe try that one.
