Compare that to Germany were sales were down over 4% YoY...... which will prompt more layoff in a economy with 11% unemployment (or about 20% to 30% over the US) and strong currency appreciation.

Kursniveau sei die deutsche Exportwirtschaft sehr konkurrenzfähig und verbuche Zuwachsraten. Der Deutsche Industrie- und Handelskammertag (DIHK) schlug dagegen zu Wochenbeginn kräftig Alarm. "Jeder zusätzliche Cent, der bei dem jetzigen Kursniveau an den Devisenmärkten für den Euro aufgewendet werden muss, schmälert die Gewinne im US-Geschäft und auf asiatischen Absatzmärkten", warnte der DIHK-Chefvolkswirt Axel Nitschke.
