OT,

Hi Jan. Merry Christmas to you. And wishing you the usual prosperous new year. Usual for you, though most of us still have to learn how to do it as well.

re wdc short covering. I was very disappointed to see the shorts escaped the noose that would be so justly deserved by them. But what can we do. I think they took advantage of the fact that wdc's holders have been very jittery and very ill-informed. It goes back to something you said back in July, which is that there would be an extended period where funds took their profits. WDC is up approx 95% for this calendar year. And the profit taking allowed shorts to get out of their positions. Unfortunately.

But on the good side, I think most of the low-cost buyers are out by now. So generally, when wdc has bottomed, it usually goes up 50% to 100%. That would be $16 to $21 within a few months.

I think the negative view of wdc has not been borne out. The bashers have just one more leg to stand on. Which is the inventory position at the end of this season. If that is good (as I expect), then the negative case is destroyed, and we get to a 6-year high in '04'.

I'm now holding more shares than ever. So I definitely hope I'm right.

Sarmad
