The GOP told a gross lie when they put out the bad info that those who have paid their debt can never vote again.

This situation is quite a bit more complicated than you make it out to be. Florida and Texas both exclude ex-felons from the voter rolls on a permanent basis. That was the justification that Jeb Bush and Queen Cruella ran their voter scrub the way they did. Ex-cons from states such as Illinois and Ohio have their voting rights returned after serving their time. It was these few hundred voters who relocated to Florida who were inappropriately scrubbed from the roles.

Do some research on the web and you'll find a better version of the thumbnail sketch I've just provided.
