I'd like to pass on a request to the security gurus including you if you get a chance.

I've been having some problems with ZAPro and my quote streamer. Having tried to give permissions and ascribing trust under the program, I have made progress but I still get delays that vary from seconds to minutes.

I tried a new experiment today. I closed down the ZAPro firewall, leaving the crappy MSFT firewall and Pest Patrol running but AFTER I did the following:

I increased security in IE, Internet Options, Security to HIGH in the Internet Zone, added the streamer site to the trusted zone, set Cookies to high in the privacy tab. In the advanced tab, everything is set at the highest security settings except for Msft Virtual Machine which is not disabled, but set as "high" and a couple of other settings which I don't believe affect my security and are set at "prompt."

I then went to the ShieldsUp page and tested without the ZAPro and got perfect results from all of Gibson's tests.

So - my question is - do I really need the ZA firewall?

I then tried this on other machines, one connected to my Netgear router and one connected directly to Comcast BB and also got perfect tests. The streamer is running fine w/o ZAPro.

Any thoughts would be appreciated and thanks again and best wishes for the new year to what may be the most informed group of posters on any message board.
