I believe it started with Aristotle and some fanciful notions later by Catholic theologians who were against anything they did not get a piece of the action on. These same types would prostitute children in the name of God if they could profit off it. newadvent.org "It is an obligation upon those who have received such rewards to share through charity with the have-nots." Would you really share a crust of bread with a have-not living on your street if he was an atheist? If so who imposed such a ridiculous moral obligation on you?
