Central bank to issue coins marking first manned spaceflight

BEIJING, Dec. 26 (Xinhuanet) -- The People's Bank of China announced Friday that a set of gold and silver coins will be issued on Dec. 29 to mark the country's first manned space flight.

The set includes one gold coin and one silver coin, bearing thepictures of solar system stars on the obverse sides and China's first astronaut Yang Liwei on the reverse sides, the central bank said.

The gold coin bears a face value of 150 yuan (18.1 US dollars) and the silver one, ten yuan (1.2 dollars).

The bank is projected to issue 30,000 gold coins and 60,000 silver coins, it said. Enditem
