"It's just not very safe for doctors to treat pain"- well let me say a big FU to the federal government for that one. It's one thing to screw up other countries, like Afghanistan and Iraq, but messing with the citizens of this country ought to have some repercussions. First they have a "war on drugs" that the society doesn't buy into- I would have expected a little more outrage about the number of citizens in prison as a result of that "war"- if only because of the cost. NOW they go after doctors? It's not as if they don't have other stuff to do, that is, imo, a lot more important.

Our government's priorities are very very very badly screwed up. Of course if you have the money and connections you can always get the drugs you need (or don't need) for chronc pain (a la Rush)- it's the little guy dealing with crippling pain that will be left out in the cold. Sucks to this lousy government. May they all end up with chronic pain that no doctor wishes to treat. Won't happen, but that would be poetic justice.
