Here is a list of some companies with low PEs and improving earnings. (Only listing names starting with A in order not to make the list too long.<g>)
Most of them are above my buying range, albeit a few have options, but I have been trying to stay away from options, which are not considered healthy at my age.<g>
Take a peek at LEND: PE 8 E-2003 earnings $4.90 (that's more than 100% from 2002) and E-2004 earnings $5.05 (not that much growth, but at least holding up there <g>)

ACE PE 15 E-2003 earnings $4.15 (that's about 140% from 2002) and E-2004 earnings $5 (about 20% better.<g>)

AT PE 14 E-2003 earnings $3.15 vs. 2.96 and pays a 3.3% dividend.<g>
AEP PE 13 E-2003 earnings $2.21 vs. a los of $0.51 and pays a 4.8% dividend.<g>
AIG PE 17 Revenues continue to improve, E-2003 earnings $3.87 vs $2.10
ASO PE 14 albeit E-2003 earnings only $1.77 vs. $1.68 but pays a 4% dividend.<g>
APC PE 9 E-2003 earnings $5.19 vs. $3.21 (Dividend only 1.2%, but not that bad these days.<g>)
ATH PE 15 E-2003 earnings $5.20 vs. $4.51, revenues also increasing and E-2004 earnings $6.09
AOC PE 12 Revenues increasing, but E-2003 earnings unchanged from 2002 at $1.84 however the E-2004 earnings at $2.17 are expected to be about 17% better and dividend is around 2.7% .<g>
APA PE 11 Revenues increasing, E-2003 earnings $7.18 vs $3.60 that's is about 96% improvement.<g>
ARM PE 10 Revenues increasing albeit E-2003 earnings only $2.34 vs. $2.08 and the dividend is only 1.9% <g>
ASBC PE 14 but E-2003 earnings only $$3.05 vs. $2.79 and revenues not increasing. Dividend 3.2%
T PE 17 E-2003 earnings $2.38 vs.$1.26 about 89% better, but revenues continue down and E-2004 earnings down to around $1.70 Dividend close to 5% <g>
ACAI PE 8 E-2003 earnings $1.29 vs. $1.18. Revenues more than 20% improvement in past 3 yrs. but E-2004 earnings down around $0.75 <g>
AVE PE 18 Revenues up in last 2 yrs. E-2003 earnings $3.57 vs. $2.75 and E-2004 earnings $4.10 Dividend only 1% <g>
That's about it for "A" (If someone is interested on low PEs of other letters from "B" to "Z" let me know, I usually keep the list just to look at it,since as I mentioned most of those companies are out of my buying range.<g>)
