Larry - Re: "Seems Cyrix intends to continue to participate in the high end of the market."

I think Cyrix implies by their atatements that the M2/6x86MX is not very competitive and needs to be "enhanced".

Further, Cyrix seems to be targeting the "middle" of the market, again an admission that they cannot keep up with Intel at the high end.

Of course, the low end (MediaGX) is where they are really strong - with no direct competition from Intel (except for "dirt-cheap" Pentium non-MMX chips).

Basically, Cyrix is rapidly losing ground to AMD and Intel in the high-technology arena. Their lack of financial success has also hurt them, driving them into the arms of National.
