Amercian Spirit also neglects to note that very few of those potential voters would have actually cast ballots and that Bush lost potential votes in the Florida Panhandle (where the time differential meant that the polls were open for an additional hour) when the networks made an early call for Gore in Florida, thereby discouraging voters in the Florida Panhandle from actually voting.

Whining about the 2000 election may energize the Democratic base, but my guess is that turns off most everyone else.
