Lots of "maybe's" and possible negative assumptions in your post. I believe if DELL was careless enough to not have the internal controls accounting for the costs....they would not be DELL. Reminds me of that saying...."If the human brain were so simple that we could understand it, we would be so simple that we couldn't." Dell wouldn't be; couldn't be DELL is they had no internal controls or if their poor tech support you speak of is widespread, and if confusion and inefficiencies are spreading. Inefficiency is a word even DELL haters would never use to describe the company.

Posts and message boards tend to highlight the negative regardless of the company or the product. I was nearly swayed away from a high end SONY television after reading around 30 posts bashing the set. Ultimately there are many many many more satisfied customers. Same goes for DELL. I've purchased from DELL too many times to remember, and even returned a few products. Never have I run into any obstacles. This doesn't mean there aren't any....they are just a small minority, and DELL has shown that they can identify and correct customer service problems.

Happy Happy New Year to all!!!
