Lizzie's venom seems based in her distorted perception of the value of her education and skills. Most jobs farmed out from the core of an operation are as a rule "hack" positions. Nothing creative, nothing but status quo junk production and development issues.

No different than the scale of industrial production or even tomato picking.

Many software and engineering jobs farmed to China, for instance are due to language and cultural differences. Some things simply have to be written and/or developed within the culture as they don't translate.

If your job can be sent offshore, it simply means your skill levels are not adequate to compete with the next level, that remains in the states. You are in effect a hack. They don't need to pay Yuppie wages to hack employees. In the day when excess was the theme of the day and dot.com meant your company was worth a billion, died when the cold reality set in. Never was worth a billion and very few developers and engineers are needed for what was actually the core of the tech revolution.

You come up with something exciting and marketable or improve a present market of device and you will get paid well...stateside digs and all the trappings.

TOO many expected to be treated as though they were rare. Obviously they aren't rare.
