What I said to Joe was:

"But maybe you are better than the jury at understanding the evidence"

That does NOT equate to
either

"Well that settles it for all eternity then doesn't it"

...nor to

"The court's ruling was infallible you say".

What it DOES equate to is this: "But maybe you are better than the jury at understanding the evidence"

The fact that I disagree with Joe's opinion does not equal the foolish remarks you made.
