The bold choice would be McCain

McCain really hates Bush over the South Carolina primary. He blames Rove for the whisper campaign against him. But if he saw the 08 election as a chance for him, he might do it.


McCain has not been a reliable Republican vote in the Senate. He is a loose cannon opposing the Republicans on several of the close votes last year in the Senate when he sided with the Democrats.

My assessment is that there is a less than zero chance that the a lame duck Bush White house will offer the plum Vice Presidential position to Senator McCain.

Rudy Guliana would be be far more likely.
