I know of literally thousands of people in that exact situation as the woman in this article. Unfortunatly the article chose a former "dot-commer" as their story line, which will cause the conservatives to discount her plight. (which in a way is a good thing). The truth is that the employment opportunities for the under 40 crowd, in many professional fields have been destroyed in the past 3 years due to globalization. This includes engineering of all type, financial service jobs, paralegal, creative design fields, business analyst, human resources, everything. All of these people, many of whom have never voted before will vote against Bush in 04 I believe. My group, being slightly older than my employees, managed to miss the Bush carnage- the over 40s are retired in many cases. But the younger people are angry at being ripped off by BushCo. As they should be.
