Brian,
Giuliani would not play well in all parts of the country. He had a race problem in NY. He has a temprement problem as well. He is probably as unlikely as McCain but in Giulianis case he could give bush NY. Speaking of NY, another good choice and one less contreversial would be Pataki. He could possibly give the republicans ny and ca. My point is that cheney adds nothing to the vote count for bush this time around. Often the case in the second term race. So if you are worried about a race too close for comfort, you switch veeps to get you some advantage. mike
