You can rail about the wonders of communications satellites and resort to name-calling all you want. But the trade deficit is real, the falling dollar is real, Greenspan's desparate measures to prop up consumer spending are real, the dependence of our economy on foreign banks is real, the demographics of the social welfare states of Europe are real, and I could go on. But I suppose it's all a liberal plot. It's out of my control and it's out of your control. The only thing that matters is whether you park your assets in the right place at the right time.
