It is very funny when people try to get you to "understand" things that are simply their opinion. How well I remember all those conversations when people tried to get me to "understand" that their God was the only God. Sigh. It may suck, but there's a lot of that view going around, and not a thing you can do about it. They are as firmly committed to their one and only belief, as you are to seeing more than one side of every belief. Nothing's going to change that. Sometimes the number of people who get infected with that meme will be smaller, and sometimes greater, but it won't ever go away, I think.
