Carl, this is nonsense. The memory makers feared that RDRAM would make it, and that thereafter Intel would be able to dictate memory standards instead of that fine organization known as JEDEC. That's why they conspired to lie to Intel about RDRAM projected production--overestimating supply--while conspiring to restrict supply. Once it was clear in 2001 that Intel would have to move to DDR because of the collusion against producing RDRAM, they colluded again to jack up DDR prices. That's when Michael Dell cried foul, hence the DoJ investigation.

It's all there in the transcripts and documents obtained through discovery--before DoJ moved to halt discovery because of their own grand jury. Bert McComas laid out this plan in detail at a restricted JEDEC meeting. Tabriz agreed to it and joked that he hoped his buddies would visit him in jail.

DoJ no doubt has even more. I'm looking forward to Micron or other other singing like canaries to keep their executives from criminal prosecution; it should provide a rich grist for the civil trials that will follow.

I know you aren't that clueless. Are you now trying to avoid the DoJ as well? Quite a few people believe you were part of the campaign.

Bert McComas and Inquest are gone. Sherry is "perplexed." Jack Robertson's parent magazine, EBN, just folded. Micron is trying to get amnesty. I can appreciate your need for fancy footwork.
