Brian,
I have on this thread (long ago) went through this same exercise, specifically about this verse. I would not expect you to remember, nor agree.
I can assure you God loves everyone, and does not wish anyone to perish.
God's word states:
2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.
Would this be true if God did not love us all?
A parting thought, because obviously we won't agree. This statement is based on your statement "I am telling you that what you believe about God is untrue". That is not a statement someone makes who follows the Lords word.
Please read the following scripture for more Godly modeled behavior.
Isaiah 1:18 "Come now, let us reason together," says the LORD . "Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool.
I'll pray that one day you see truth, specifically when it comes to God's love!
God Bless, IGIT |
