James Carville this week summed up the Dean problem: "He seems to not appreciate the glory of the unspoken thought."

Some comments I agree with from a political weblog...

<<...I absolutely believe that Clark has important advantages over Dean - (a) he can withstand the Rove onslaught better, (b) his appeal to voters across the country is greater, and (c) thus far (and I hope forever) he has displayed superior consistency and temperament.

Dean and his campaign are under attack right now, and that sometimes changes how one responds. Let's not forget that, should Clark become the Democratic nominee, he and his campaign will come under amazingly intense, vitriolic, unfair, false, and misleading attack. We'll find out how well Clark holds up. I feel good about it, because he stated upon entering the race that he fully understands that to go up against Bush is dependent on how much pain one can bear.

For me, this is about a positive campaign for Clark. I want to keep to the high road, and I respect Clark for doing that as well. We can be positive and win...>>
