Wstr,
I have been making the point that the egyptians and the jordanians need to make this effort. Any peace will have to have them onboard along with the saudis. I even suggested that jordan run the west bank and either jordan or egypt run gaza. That would really return things to 1967 borders. For this sharon could redirect the wall to more fully mirror 1967 and Camp David/Tava borders. And the Saudis would only need to OK the deal and aid jordan and egypt and perhaps take some interest in the holy places.
Likud israelis always used to say the Pals had a pal state in jordan. A merged entity makes that so although not in the way Likud originally thought. And for the Pals it turns them eastward and away from israel. Ultimately there could be a free trade mideast version of the EU that would include israel. But thats probably way off.
I would be interestsed in your's and other's thoughts on these different ideas. Mike
