Egypt will send its intelligence chief to the Palestinian areas next week in a renewed effort to halt attacks on Israel, Palestinian officials said today.


If this is true (I don't trust the word of Palestinian officials alone), it just shows that Egypt has too much of its self-importance wrapped up in these talks to stop, even though Cairo is fuming over the treatment of FM Maher at Al Aqsa.
