So you are of the opinion that the US should not bother itself to foster political and economic openess (as well as religious tolerance) within the Middle East?

Yes I do but I am not convinced that Iraq should have been that place. There is Palestine/Jordan/Israel/Syria, countries who do not have oil and are not democratic and are in turmoil (Palestine/Israel)

Do you believe that the US should continue to support and tolerate the status quo, with millions of people denied humanitarian, political, and human rights, subjugated to the rule of aristorcratic, or theological elites?

No, the US should support efforts to provide for humanitarian, political and human rights etc. But it can do so in so many other countries in Africa and Asia. It did not provide for much in Afghanistan, nor in Pakistan which is a hotbed of terrorism Al Qaeda style. Why Iraq?

Do you regret the economic and political restructuring the US undertook in both Europe and Japan after WWII?

No. In that the US did not gain as much as it does with Iraqi oil. Iraq is a fight for oil with the US on one side and the French, Germans on the other side since they got their oil supplies from Iraq irrespective of the Iraqi economic sanctions.
