I tried the registry restore. No change. The background changes and the "Start Bar" momentarily displays, then disappears. (This is the same symptom as before.) No Icons, nothing to click on...just an arrow on the screen and the mouse moves it...but nothing to do... Getting ready to re-install Windows... Ira
