Re: Short interest. A large short interest position after a stock has recovered somewhat from a decline is considered by many to be a bullish indicator. The assumption is that any strength in the stock, caused by factors such as an upward revision in sales or earnings guidance, would lead to short covering, which in turn would boost the price of the shares.

The data you assembled are interesting, but I don't see a date on which the short position was tallied for the stocks you noted. If the date for the short position was earlier, when SNDK shares were in the 50's, then a fair amount of short covering may already have occurred.
