The middle east needs the ideas of tolerance and equal rights, and they are in short supply on the Arab side. Put the Saudis in charge of the holy places? I don't think so - the Jews and the Christians don't feel like being forbidden from their holy places (if the Muslims claim them) or seeing them turned into dumps (if the Muslims don't claim them).
