Hi Art,
I agree, it is a positive! It is my understanding that short interest numbers are made public about the middle of each month. The figures I gave were as of 15 December. Hard to say how much short covering has taken place. It was down 7% from November. There will be a lot of short covering in the next several weeks.

Here is a question for you, slightly OT. How can a company like SIRI have a short interest of 68 million shares when the stock has not been above $5 since May 2002? It is hard to believe that shorts would hold on and not cover when the stock was 38 cents a share. I am puzzled. Is there some other way to short a stock below $5 a share? There has to be some angle to this that I am not aware. Anybody know? Thanks.

Steve
