Most of us are reasonable and want the same thing. Perhaps because we all live under the same or similar systems with similar values. When one group of people sees the very existence of Israel as critical to peace and another sees its very existence as an evil which must be destroyed before any peace can come, it's hard to see how sitting down with both sides is going to do much. Do you really think you can persuade Israel that it should disband and give the Palestinians back the land the UN gave to Israel, let alone that which Israel grabbed in war? Do you really think you can persuade Palestinians to agree that it was fair and just for the UN to take away their land and force millions of families off of land they had owned and farmed for centuries because of what Nazi Germany did? Good luck.
