Don't know much about Special Forces. Were you a Ranger or Green Beret? Common confusion...Hopefully this explanation will help. Special Forces is the unit. Green Beret is the headgear. All Green Berets are Special Forces and all Special Forces wear Green Berets. They are essentially synonyms. Everyone else in SpecOps including SEALS, Rangers, Force Recon, 160th Avn, USAF SOS/Air Commando, etc., are Special Operations Forces. And yes, Special Forces is a Special Operations Force too. And many Special Forces soldiers are Ranger qualified and wear that tab too. uw
